We need to replace camera sound with DAT sound for a final cut sequence. Since we had problems with our field NLE setup and we were short on DAT machine we had to continue cut with just camera sound. Now that all of the cuts are done the sound needs to be replace. How do we find the original clip and replace camera sound with DAT sound (already captured) Anyone patient enough to help guide me through this process. Thank you.

    were the DAT tapes timecoded?
And if so, was it the same code as the camera tapes?

The DAT had its own internal timecode which did not relate to the camera. On other film if this is the case I sync to the clapper board. I was worry that if I replace them on the timeline or other methods the EDL would not come out right. Please give me some idea. Thanks.
