how do i update multiclip thats already cut in?
Hey
doing a four cam shoot via multicam. once of the cams was bad color, but i had to start anyway (nice qc at the site huh?)
so i got a boput a third of the way through the 90 minute show using the bad camera. the next day i captured a backup tape of that camera that had good color. howevwer the tc did not match
so i was able to sync it up to the other cameras, and overwrite the bad color cam in my source multiclip, and contiinue editing
the problem is that everytime i uncollapse or double click the multiclip in the timeline, i get the camera w bad color?
How do i replace a camera in the multiclip i have already edited into my timeline? and do i have to replace it after every cut?

so i guess i am stuck with the bad camera everytime i uncollapse those scenes where i cut in the multicam with bad camera huh?

I’m not sure but i think you drag the good angle into the bad angle and replace it. If the tc doesn’t match, you might have to resync.

yes. that is how you add or replace angles when the multiclip is in the viewer. and if i doubleclick on the multiclip in the sequence, it bring it back to the viewer. i cna then replace the angle that way as well.
however its only good until the next cut, then i have to replace the angle again,,,and again,.,.,.and again and so on
i was wondering, short of relinking to the better video, if there wa a way to replace it in ALL the editied multiclips?

When you drag the new clip top the viewer to add it to the old multi-clip, you should get two options, add to multi-clip and add to multi-clip affiliates. Try the affiliates option, I have had some luck with it but haven’t used it enough to figure out when and why it did work and when it didn’t.

There is a seciton in the manual about color correcting and applying other effects to media for multiclips. Basically, you have to do it before you start the edit. Seems rather restrictive.
You could possibly export your clip with the corrections and rename it to match the original and then relink to the new file. A bit risky (be sure to copy the original or rename it so you don’t lose it) but the method sounds perfectly do-able. Let us know how that turns out, Bob, good luck.

followed your advice about exporting a clip to replace the original bad clip and using recconect media . it will take 45 minutes to export so i will do it over lunch. i am sure it will work that way. if not i’ll be back here to chew you out!! (just kidding) 🙂
