  canvas image won’t refresh

  hey all-

  ive just begun cutting a project but have discovered a disturbing trend: after a few commands the canvas window won’t refresh the image unless it’s playing (ie. i can’t scrub or go frame by frame to see where i am on the timeline).

  i’ve tried trashing the fcp preferences and restarting – and it _works_ – but the same situation recurs after just a few commands once i begin again.

  it’s sort of driving me nuts and i’m wondering if anyone has any clues as to how to get it to behave in a more helpful manner

  btw, the clips play smoothly w/ no probs in the viewer.

  im using:
  fcp hd 4.5
  osx 10.3.9
  1.67 GHz powerbook
  2 GB DDR SDRAM

  Make sure you have chosen “Fit to Window” for the size of the Canvas.

  Make sure you do not have any part of the Canvas “pushed off” of the edge of the computer screen.
