  audio output routing

  Folks,

  Is there a way in either FCP, or Soundtrack Pro, to route an audio channel to more than one place? I have a 4 ch. timeline, and am outputting to a 4ch. DVW 500.
  Currently, I have a promo with a bunch of tracks that ends up a full mix on ch. 1&2 (stereo). I’d like to add a full mix minus the v/o on ch. 3&4. in order to do this, I have to replicate the tracks that are going to 3&4, so I can route them there. On other NLE’s I have the choice of sending a track to 1&2, 3&4, or all.
  Is there any way to achieve that in FCP, without having to repeat tracks?

  No. But you could make the process a lot less painful by nesting the layers you need, then duplicating the nest.

  Alternatively, I think someone suggested here recently deactivating the V/O tracks, exporting the audio to a QT, and dropping it back in on seperate tracks. Voila, job done.

  Not clever, but not too much bother….
