I continuously get a stream interuption message when capturing in long form (i.e. Capture Now). It’s rather trivial stuff, meetings, but I have to have it. The problem of it constantly stopping is wreaking havoc on my day.

I have it set to warn after capture, and not make a new clip. I’m not having TC problems. Could my media be no good? Shot on Jvc 100 with JVC PRO Stock. Captured with the JVC HDV deck.

What’s a stream interruption message? Could you be more specific about exactly what’s happen on your computer? Do you mean iChat messages, email? Get another computer, like a laptop and set it up to do that.

    All the best,

    How long is your clip?

It could be timecode problems. HDV is known for bad timecode, even though you are seeing it continuous, it still could have some unseen breaks. This has happened to me before. The only solutions that I have come up with is to either dub the tape to a new striped tape OR just digitze in smaller chunks.

And by the way, FCP has been known to have problems with JVC. According to Apple, they are working on this.

By any chance do you have one of the older models of the HD-100 camera that has not had the firmware upgraded? This was a constant problem with HD-100, fixed in the HD100a and later.
