Interlacing Problem with DVCPRO HD Shot at 23.98
So i wanted to get some opinions on the best workflow for this. I’ve started a feature and ive digitized 5 of footage. I brought it in through an AJA IO box at 23.98fps using the US SDI/AV 8-Bit to DV capture setting. Everything works fine excpet im getting this weird Jitter when I watch it on my NTSC Monitor. But it only happens when there’s movement on screen, meaning someone walking left to right, the camera pans across, stuff like that. Now i’ve brought it through DVCPROHD Firewire at 23.98 and it works fine (As a test, not all the footage). I’ve also brought it in through the AJA with the same settings as earlier except this time at 29.97. It works fine as well. Can some one tell me wha the deal is? Why am I getting Jitter when i bring it in at 23.98.
It’s an HD tape that were downcoverting to SD through the AJA.
The tape runs at 23.98Fps
My sequence is the same way..My only solutions are to bring it in at 29.97 though the AJA and run it through cinema tools to bring it back to a 23.98 frame rate for online or bring it through the firewire at the DVCPRO HD setting. I’d rather not have to redigitize 5 hours of footage, but I guess it could be worse if thats the only way.
I would apprecite any help or opinions you could give me.
Thanks,
Jonathan
