  How to Reveal clip in Browser?

  Hi,

  Im wondering if there is a way to reveal a clip in the browser? from the timeline or the viewer?
  the reason Im asking is that often i would like to take a look at whats next or previous on the tape.

  The “show in Browser” function in the “Find Results Window” is what im looking for, but how to access it from the viewer or timline???

  Thanx for the suggestion Andy,
  shift F works when i “load” the clip from the browser,
  But i doesent work from the timeline.
  When i dobble click on a clip in the timeline and it pops up in the viewer, and i hit shift F, nothing happens.
  (have altso tried to load the original clip, (option command F) before Shift F)

  any ideas?

  Are you sure that the clip is in fact IN your project?

  If not, then it won’t show up. If that’s the case, there’s another feature called “Reveal in Finder” which will open up the finder level and show you where the actual clip lives. THis is very helpful if you use a workflow where the digitized footage lives in a separate project. You can access that from a pull down menu.

  Place the playhead on the clip in the timeline. Press shift+f. If you double click it into the viewer, then you’re looking at a clip that doesn’t exist in the browser. That clip only exists in the timeline.

  If you’d like it to appear in the viewer, THEN the broswser, press f to match frame to the clip from the browser in the viewer. Then press shift+f to show it in the bin.

  Thanx Mark and Bret,

  You are right Mark, the clip is not in the same project as the timeline.
  and thats probably why it dosent work.
  Ive tried your solution Bret, but ive altso tried that before.
  The reveal in finder is usefull but not in my case…

  it is obvious that the “find in browser” function shift F only works if the clip is in the project.
  however the “show in browser” button in “find results” window manages to show me the clip regardless of which project it originates from…
