No problems at all with 5.11, not a single crash in weeks of operation – similar spec system to you.

Have you trashed prefs, repaired permissions etc?

yes tried all the usual suspects….it’s poof to the desktop about every 10 minutes…particularly when moving title 3d clips around the timeline

No problems here either. Try a clean install perhaps.

Make sure that your Boris 3D is upgraded as well. This is a third party program that doesn’t upgrade automatically when you upgraded the rest of the FCP studio.

We have had issues with title 3D when there is a ‘version” mismatch between the system that created the cut and the system that is on-lining that timeline.

    Just a suggestion.

    thanks Mark

I’ll check the boris version to make sure they match.

Before you do a fresh install try to create a new user. That worked for me.
