5.1.1 stability anyone?
Posted by Paul Nevison on August 20, 2006 at 9:24 amhey there just upgraded to 5.1.1 from 5.0.4….having quite a few stability issues…lots of dissapearing to the desktop.
is anyone else finding this release less than stable? what seems to be the concensus?
G5 DP 2.0
4.0G RAM
OS 10.4.7
QT 7.1.2
FCP 5.11
BMD Decklink Extreme 5.6.2

August 20, 2006 at 9:31 amNo problems at all with 5.11, not a single crash in weeks of operation – similar spec system to you.
Have you trashed prefs, repaired permissions etc?

August 20, 2006 at 11:24 amyes tried all the usual suspects….it’s poof to the desktop about every 10 minutes…particularly when moving title 3d clips around the timeline

Make sure that your Boris 3D is upgraded as well. This is a third party program that doesn’t upgrade automatically when you upgraded the rest of the FCP studio.
We have had issues with title 3D when there is a ‘version” mismatch between the system that created the cut and the system that is on-lining that timeline.
Just a suggestion.
