  removing fields from footage? It looks interlaced!

  Hey I’m trying to figure out how to remove the weird interlaced lines from some public domaim footage that I downloaded from archive.org.
  I’ve used the “de-interlacing” in final cut pro, but it did nothing.
  Help please!

  for some reason seeing interlacing on a mac is a big issue.

  I don’t know why, but it is.

  View your DVD or do a short encode to DVD as a test.

  on a television it will look fine.

  I should have mentioned that the specific interlacing people see is with the preview in DVD Studio Pro which cannot output live to a monitor.
