Probably a specific query for Graeme, but any advice is welcome. My client, Karl Broadie, has bought in his HDV music vid timeline whith Nattress film effects plugins for me to final grade.

We bumped the timeline up to HD 10 bit 4.2.2 uncompressed to render the grades prior to output. On most of the shots, the render is fine, but when using the Warm Diffusion preset, the render has gone wrong with a big black vertical bar on the left of frame and alternate frames flashing green. The two clips with this filter are on V2 with a bed clip underneath on V1. Opacity on the clips ramps from 0 to 100% but I was wondering if I should drop all onto one track and do cross dissolves instead.

I have to say, apart from this one glitch, I am impressed with the filters and will be buying my own copy.

There are many bugs in FCP with it’s 10bit rendering and high precision YUV mode. Now, as I find them, I try to do work-arounds in my code, but either this one slipped through, or you’re using an older version. I’d have the plugin owner contact me to ensure they have the latest version, and if that doesn’t fix it, a screenshot showing the exact plugin settings that reproduce the error, and then I can try and work around the FCP issue.
