Tell me if this looks right
Posted by Dan Sheridan on August 8, 2006 at 10:01 amHi,
Have had a reel 35mm gone through the telecine process – the aspect ratio should be 1.85:1
Does this look right?

August 8, 2006 at 10:41 amWould you say its a 4:3 image / or a 16:9 image – (anamorphic or non)

August 8, 2006 at 12:56 pmHi Shane,
If it had been done correctly formatted to 16:9 – would the black bars – no longer be there…
and be more like the below?
https://www.streamload.com/actionman007/full.jpg
or would it still retain an element of the black bars…
Tad confused at the moment…
As the client has labelled one of his DVDs as 1.85:1 anamorphic (as full.jpg) which was written on the korean release of the same title…
The previous title (dvd_telecine) has been labelled as 1.85:1 – and the client is protesting that it should be a 16:9 image…
any light on the situation would be appreciated!

August 8, 2006 at 1:02 pmThe material is 4:3 letterboxed. It’s not anamorphic. I’m assuming the screen shot is from QT and not from inside FCP.
All the best,
Tom
