It looks badass. Does it perform? Seems like it has only been released for a few months.

August 3, 2006 at 5:19 amLots of people use Fimrtek enclosures and cards with Powermac and FCP. They are great. Will the card fit into your laptop? If so then have no fear, Firmtek makes great stuff. I have both their 2 and 4-drive enclosures and couldn’t be happier.

I had already ordered the bundle…. just deciding on how much I wanna spend on the drives now.
I’m under the impresion that the bundle should work with my system. hehe. she has an empty slot on the left side.

August 3, 2006 at 7:14 amHitachi 500gb drives are available for just $195.00 at Bason Computer. I just bought four at another place for $199.90. The folks at Firmtek recommended the Hitachis to me.

I hope you’re not beating yourself up over the $19.60!

I did consider self-flaggelation momentarily, but it takes a bit more than $20 before I’ll take that cat o’nine tails to myself.

August 3, 2006 at 7:08 pmWow thanks for the tip, this looks great.
Would this set up allow me to work in the uncompressed world?
I normally digitize from dv tapes (dv/dvcpro codec). I have a macbookpro 17″ with 2gb ram.
Would I be gaining quality with this set up?
My initial thought is HECK yes.
