XServ RAID as storage
We are looking at implementing two FCP Systems into our Production house. We would like to get an XSAN, but that looks like it may be done ‘down the road’.
In the meantime, if we purchased the two FCP Systems, and hooked up to to an XServ RAID (One system plugged into one side, one system plugged into another) and used that as our storage system, would that be fast and effective enough to work? My main concern is the speed comparison between a 2Gbit Fibre channel that would hook this up, and say a Rourke Data Galaxy RAID setup.
We mainly edit uncompressed SD (Beta SP, Digital Beta), MiniDV, and we will soon be implementing DVCPRO100 (Via P2 Media)
Thanks!
