• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  FCP 5 will not open

  I installed FCP5 onto my dual 1.8 (768 RAM, OS 10.3.9) yesterday and all was well. I attempted to open FCP today and it would display the start-up dialog box and then the program would close. My computer had been asleep and never shut down, so i reattempted after restarting the computer. Same thing, crash after it begins to load the program.
  What’s the deal?

  Try trashing your FCP prefrences. Under your user root (NOT your hard drive root!), go to ‘library:prefrences:final cut pro user data’ and trash the final cut pro prefs, obj cache, and prof cache files. Then go up one level to the prefrences folder and trash the file com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist. Once these are all in the trash, try to start final cut again. You can delete these files from the trash anytime.
