Animation and matrox compression question?
I am a graphic designer that got stuck with this project because I have a slight background in animation. I am working on a project and cannot seem to figure it out. I was wondering if you know the solution or have any ideas. I am making a 60 sec, animation for the DCU center. I am basically making stills in photoshop and playing them into a movie in flash. Then I converted the SWF to an AVI using a converting program (WINAVI). The problem is, it did not work. The DCU center gave me specs on what they needed. I have attached the specs below. I think the first prob. is that I should create the movie in adobe after effects not Flash. Also I have no Idea what Matrox Compression is, Do you? Any Ideas?

This part is vague, you need to inquire. There is no such thing as a generic Matrox CoDec. There are major differences between Axio/ Extio (HD systems), RT systems and old DigiSuite stuff. Most likely they are using an RT system (the resolution given indicates standard NTSC 720×486).
On some level your initial suspicion is right – working in Flash isn’t that ideal. For video output you need fields and Flash does not give you this. You should also use motion blur to minimize flickering. From there it would also be easy to render out the final AVI in whatever Matrox CoDec you need.
