    Hello all…

I was wondering if anyone knows about the PCIE ATI X1900 G5 Mac addition graphics card that just came out recently. I am thinking about getting this card. Would this card improve performance and rendering speeds in any way when using After Effects? (Open GL?) Right now I have a Dual Core 2.0 G5 Mac with NVIDIA 6600 (256 meg VRAM), 2.5 gigs of ram, 10,000 rpm Barracuda boot drive, and Maxtor 250 gig secondary drive. Any insight would be helpful.

    Thanks

I had the same card before upgrading to the ATI X1900 Mac G5 card. I have faster previews and render times seem to be faster. But I also added more ram so that might have helped also.

I’ve got 5.5 gigs of ram. Ive got a g5 same as you.

I cant seem to get openGL to work now with CS3 however.
