  35mm 2.35 anamorphic question

  Hello,

  I’m grading a piece in Final Touch (2k) and onlining in FCP at 2k also… Would any of you kind contributors know what the best way of converting this to 2.35.
  I know of the widescreen mask business, but don’t I have to squeeze the image beforehand, if so by what amount?

  I’ll be delivering a DPX sequence to the printers and understand they’ll do all the re-racking and stuff like that, so they’ll get from me a full open gate DPX sequence.

  It’s just that I have to give them a digibeta copy as well… and hence my question,

  Why not just do this on your video board – the Kona 3 Cards allow for multiple types of output and the crop function is accessible via the kona Control panel.

  this is accessible via Final Touch’s video out setting via Kona or just use the masking functions inside of Final Touch
