trouble reinstalling quicktime pro
I just installed OS X last week. AFter a network engineer worked on my system for a few hours, OS 9 went down completely with an error 127 bomb. I had to reinstall OS 9, and I lost the ability to launch some programs. If you’re wondering why I waited so long to “upgrade” to OS X, well now you know why.
I reinstalled OS9 and FCP 3, but I’m having trouble getting quicktime reinstalled. Back in 2003 I purchased quicktime pro 6, I think because the quicktime that came on my FCP and DVDSP disks didn;t measure up in some crucial respect. I have my “quicktime pro 6 for Mac Os registered name” and my keys, but I don’t know how or what exactly to download from apple’s quicktime download site. I see they offer me a free quicktime (7?)OS 9 download, but is it quicktime pro and will it help me get back online with FCP3 in OS 9? Also, what version of quicktime pro is best to use for FCP on Panther? I am confused.
Thanks for any help.
sincerely
John
