  FCP 5.1 won’t recognize firewire NTSC playback

  We just updated to Tiger 10.4.6 and Final Cut Studio 5.1 and are having problems with video playback. We have tried 2 different Media Converters (one a sony DVMC-DA2, and the other a Pinnacle MovieBox). Both are firewire and worked with Final Cut Studio 5.0. We have tried it on multiple computers (Macbook Pro and 2.5 ghz Dual Powermac) and aren’t having any luck. We’re haven’t switched our last computer to tiger/fcp 5.1 yet because we can’t fix this problem. help?

  If you just “upgraded” to Tiger from Panther, that too could be part of the problem.   I would like to see that article, but when I click on your link it is just leading to subscription. I signed up for it but how can I located that specific article? About to upgrade from FCP 4.5 to 5, Panther to TIger.
