    Hello All,

Maybe this is an easy question to answer?!

I have a little Canon ZR500 for home movies and it has true widescreen.

When I digitize the footage and play it back in QuickTime it plays widescreen with no black bars.

How do I edit that footage and export it back in that same format?

Whenever I edit the footage and export it from FCP it always has the black bars.

I also exported it as 16 x 9 and that just stretched the picture.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thank you
    Jason

You need to start a project with the “NTSC DV Anamorphic” setting. Any footage you capture also needs to be identified as anamorphic. If you’ve already captured it, just import it into the new project and then expand the bin window so you can see all of the clips’ settings. One of the columns should be called “anamorphic.” You can check that row to flag footage as anamorphic if it wasn’t identified that way upon capture.

    Yep, that worked!

It’s always the 1 button that you miss!

    Thank you
