I can only view the 23.98 footage in my timeline when I switch to unlimited RT but there is alot of studdering. Is there a way to change my settings for these clips so that they will work with the 29.97 clips? If not, can I recapture the 23.98 footage with a setting that will allow me to combine it with the 29.97 without the studder or without having to render? Finally, if none of the above are an option, can I create a seperate timline for all my 23.98 footage with a setting which will work normally like the 29.97 clips (meaning I don’t have to render or use RT unlimited to play the sequence with this footage).

Is this problem caused by video taping in two different formats. It was all shot in the same camera but as the editor I do not know if the settings where changed by the camera man at some point.

    Thanks,
    Morgan

You’ll need to work in a 29.97 timeline and add 3:2 pulldown to your 24p clips for everything to work okay. If you don’t your 24p clips will have a messed up looking cadence to them. With the 3:2 pulldown added, your clips will undoubtedly have a “judder” to them that’s common with *any* 24p footage shown on a 60i display.

Look at the Nattress filters (https://www.nattress.com/) for adding 3:2 pulldown to your 24p clips.
