FCP rendering in 8 bit for transitions…..
Posted by Paul Harb on May 31, 2006 at 9:31 pmI am being told still that it is a misnomer that FCP will render transitions higher than 8 bit…..is this true???? At a very well known Post House in LA and they were going to get a beta of FCP Extreme and they didnt do it because it only renders in 8 bit….and it will take a total rewrite of the program to change that, and Apple has no plans soon to do anything about it…..anybody have any insight into this?

Since FCp Extreme is a new and as yet unannounced app, don’t you think that it has been rewritten? Where did this reputable post house get their information from?

If they were really going to be in line for a beta version of that software, they certainly wouldn’t be talking about it. I seriously doubt their story.

June 1, 2006 at 3:13 pmThe ‘only renders in 8bit’ thing comes from using (or not on an intel) AE filters within FCP.
