Silly Corporate stuff here (apologies up front). I am looking for the best way to take a PowerPoint preso to FCP. The goal is green screen the presenter and toggle/walk on the slide background depending on the slide.

My thought…copy the slide as a picture file and use those with the motion settings such as opacity, center, and crop.

The other is to try and get the good graphics used in PPT, originally Visio, and get the layers/shapes so that I can manipulate in Motion or After Effects.

So, any idea the best way to get Visio to Motion or After Effects so I can do a little more?

    Thanks in advance,
    Mac.

I haven’t done this, but I recall seeing some post on this forum about using Keynote. Do a search and you will find them. Keynote will open PPTs and then export QTs of them with most effects intact. Otherwise, your idea of getting the individual slide graphics and using them in AfterFX or FCP makes sense. Just be aware that fonts that look good on a PPT slide being viewed on a computer will be shakey on video if they are too small and/or thin. Also, horizontal lines with high contrast will exhibit field jitter.

You can export right from PPT to a quicktime movie.
