I created a five second composition in my timeline that I need to export to flash. I went through the necessary steps (i.e. Went to “Export to Flash). However, the file is too large. I need for the file to be under 40k…any idea on how to make it smaller?

    Cheers.

AE generally only creates rasterized, JPEG-like SWF movies, not tiny vector-like SWF movies. If you want really small files, you have to use Flash, or only use Supported Features in AE. Check the AE help for “SWF”.

Otherwise, you could try reducing the frame size and frame rate, but I don’t think you could get 40K out of a rasterized movie.

Thank you. I made a web banner animation, but couldn’t get it down to the file size that the web folks wanted. I wasn’t sure if I was doing something wrong or if it just wasn’t possible.

    I appreciate your input.

    Cheers,

Yeah, currently there’s a bit of a gap between AE and Flash. One makes fancy movies, the other makes small files. 🙂
