Hi, I’m having some painful problems using FCP’s VO tool. We’re going XLR into a Motu Traveller into our system. It’s a fully loaded system (5 GB RAM, 900 GB free on array, 30 on system drive). My rates are consistent between the VO capture window and my sequences (both 48khz).FCP is recording 98% of what I say, then every 7 seconds or so is dropping a sylable. Any ideas. From anyone….

I had problems with intermittent audio dropouts using an Edirol U-25 which was connected to my G5 via USB. I suspect that the dropouts were caused by conflicts between the U25 and other devices using the USB buss. I never got it to work properly. The same may be happening with the Traveller fighting something else on the Firewire buss. What I do now is use a AD/DA with an optical in/out and feed that to the optical connectors on my G5. It works great. I think the Traveller has optical I/O. Try connecting that to uour computer’s optical I/O.
