Batch Capture question
Posted by Jesse Shelton on May 9, 2006 at 3:48 pmWhile trying to capture a single clip, the dialogue says that there are 8 clips to capture when I am asking for only one. In the past I have trashed prefs and that fixed it but not today. I am trashing FCP Prefs and POA Cache. What can I do to clear this old batch?
Thanks,

May 9, 2006 at 3:50 pmI forgot to mention that I am using FCP 5 on a G5 2.5, 4Gigs Ram
Thanks in advance -

May 9, 2006 at 4:10 pmUpgrade to 5.0.4 and QT 7.0.4 and OS 10.4.6 if you haven’t already.
Seems to me if you restart FCP, the problems may go away. If you simply select the clips you want to capture you shouldn’t have a problem with them. How are you selecting what is to be batched?

May 9, 2006 at 4:33 pmThanks Jerry (I have your FCP Book) I have it selected in the browser, like one clip in this case. If I have multiple clips I usually use the pulldown that says ‘all offline clips’ or i will select those and choose ‘selected clips’
I already have FCP 5.0.4 and QT 7.0.4.
It should say in the dialogue ‘1 clip’ and the length but it is for some reason showinging two lines, one saying 6 clips and another saying 8 clips. I somehow have to clear these for batch capture to work properly. Not my deck just takes off looking for clips that i’m not asking for. I am having to do everything as capture now which is a pain
Thanks for hanging with me.

May 9, 2006 at 6:25 pmHave you tried to capture it anyway? I know what you are talking about ever since upgrading to the lastest and greatest (not 5.1), I get a simliar message box. If i have selected five clips and I batch capture them it will say that I have ten clips to capture but it only captures the five clips I have selected. I’ve learned to just ignor that message and capture as normal

May 9, 2006 at 7:52 pmThanks, I’ve tried that and the deck takes off about 90 MPH looking for those other clips. I have had it work some like this in the past but trashing prefs took care of it
