How to blur something within a clip that has also has motion?
FYI, I don’t have any kind of motion tracking software or plugin. With that said, I have a clip where I am zooming out of a tight shot which reveals a banner in the background that I need to cover up or blur out. I know how to take a matte color and customize it to block out stuff. The problem I am facing is when the clip is zooming out, I need the matte to stay still. Its moving with the zoom if you follow what I am saying. I am thinking that I need to keyframe the matte so that it does not move when the rest of the clip is moving. Whats been happening is I place the matte where I want it and it looks good but then I play the clip back and the matte starts like on the ground and as the shot zooms out the matte moves into the correct place! I need to somehow have it start and finish in the same spot while the rest of the clip is in motion.

For this kind of thing, here’s what I do:
Copy the clip and paste the copy above the original on the next highest video track on the timeline. Then blur the top copy and finally add an 8-point garbage matte to it. Then go frame by frame and place the edges of the garbage matte where you need them. Takes some time but you can get exactly what you need.
