Amsterdam NTSC shoot with 50Hz lighting question.

The type of lighting is the key. Hot lights (incandescents) won’t cause strobing, but flourescents will. Without a clear-scan
setting, it would normally be difficult, but with a 1/100 shutter, it should work OK.
I work in the Netherlands occasionally, and like all 50hz countries, I have to use ClearScan indoors at big events. On my Sony
Beta camera, it’s always been 99. something that looked best (not quite 100, but close), so 1/100 should be OK.

I forgot this part: NOOOOOOOO!!! you can’t fix it in post. There are tons of posts of this very problem
on COW forums and elsewhere, and nothing in post gets rid of it completely. Best to not let it get that far. I’ve also
noticed that strobe can be very subtle, so when you’re shooting you may not notice it until it’s too late. I
would look very carefully at your viewfinder and field monitor to make sure it’s not showing up.

someone handed me some footage shot on a PD150 in the exact same situation. Except this was under sodium-arc lamps outdoors. the flicker was TERRIBLE. Definately shoot with incandescent bulbs.
