FCP goes all black when I open it up
I’m running the latest version of FCP5, and it’s been flawless for as long as I can remember. Then yesterday I went to start it up and after the boot screen, the entire screen then goes black. When I move my mouse to the menu bar, the FCP menu bar appears at the top all by itself but the rest of the screen is still black. If I then go to the finder, the FCP layout shows underneath, but if I go to click on it. It goes to black again. What’s the deal?
I tried to disconnect all peripherals, FW drive, and deck. Still the same. Then I ran disk permissions repair, mac janitor, then even disk warrior. No help. Anyone have any suggestions before I reinstall FCP?

I’m using a laptop and noticed that the vidoe playback setting was set incorrectly.
