This is sort of an abstract question, but a client of mine who works with medical devices has asked me to help build a computer system that captures video streaming from a floroscope during device experiments.
Right now they capture video by running the floroscope to a DV camera which records onto a DV tape, and then capture the video from the tape to a computer. The idea is how to take out the min DV tape out of the equation. They want to capture directly to the hard drive of the computer. They also specified that they would love to have to inputs capturing two video streams at the same time on the same computer. the example they used was the security guard who watches 3 or 4 survailance cameras at the same time, but instead medical device experiments…

Any info would be so greatly appreciated!! Thanks kindly.

    Zack,

Any video capture card can capture live input from the output of a video camera without tape. Running and capturing from two cards simultaniuosly is a bit trickier, but it can be done with a software app that allows two instances of the software to be running at the same time. I’d call a palce like B&H camera in New York or the Videoguys to see if they can help you. There should be very resonably priced video cards that will do the job.
