everything was going fine, then i rendered another “Best Quality 90 min” and suddenly no video would render, or at least no video would show up in DVD SP when it was done rendering. i went back and did short tests with the fastest encodes with no problem. then tried another at “Best Quality” and no video again. any ideas how to work around this or fix it? in the meantime, i’m doing more renders with Fastest 90 min and will probably just stick with that if it looks okay. i’ve heard other people have had problems with Compressor, but i really haven’t until now.

thanks for helping out a bonehead,

the 1-pass 6.2mbps worked, as did the 2-pass 5.0mbps…but i can’t decide which one looks better! either way, the 2-pass 6.2 again failed – no video! very strange…

There was (is?) a bug in Compressor2 using VBR. Do a search of the archives in this, the DVD SP, and maybe the compression forums. It’s been mentioned a bunch.
It’s also been discussed a lot on the Apple boards. Unless it’s been fixed, then CBR is the answer for now.

if you change the data rate to “best quality 90 min” preset, does that help?
