• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  FCP not responding.

  Hi Guys. Final Cut Pro 5 isn’t responding. It hangs when trying to open the application then quits. I’ve tried reinstalling from my original Final Cut Studio disks but it still hangs in exactly the same place then quits.
  I’ve used applejack to clean up my prefs etc and to be honest I thought that would sort it, but it hasn’t.
  Maybe I haven’t deleted all relevant files…

  Any ideas / help.

  Try trashing ALL prefs. Users>Your User>Library>Preferences drag to the desktop. Relaunch FCP and then start putting Prefs back.

  Hi Matthew…. No it didn’t work… any other ideas? FCP still hangs and then quits in the same place.

  Hi All

  I’m going to try removing everything again, if that doesn’t work then I may have to reinstall OSX. Which I don’t really want to do.

  best FCP prefs handling app is FCP Rescue

  failing that, before going down the whole clean install road, try creating a new user account in your OS X System Preferences … log into the new user account and try FCP again.
