  audio being wierd

  so i captured some footage from a music video onto final cut and the wierd thing is that as i play the footage, I am getting audio levels at around 60db but all i hear is a wierd clicking sound. why is that? if it does show levels of audio i should be hearing something at least. I checked the dv tape and i played it on a vtr and i could not hear anything. so why would it be showing that i have audio levels?
