    …this might sound lame, but should there be any problems using a 4 port SATA card with a G-SATA (the 148g 10k model) and a set of larger capacity 7200 drives? each set of SATAs requires 2 cables each of course!!

    techically it appears it should work, but some real world experience or input would help.

    BTW, i use the 148 for HD and the other drives for DV/SD… if it matters.

    Eric,

    There’s no problem running the drive, but is the throughput of single drive, even a 10000 RPM model, good enough for HD? Of course you didn’t mention what flavor or HD…

    The two drive sets should work fine using the same SATA card for both, if I’m understanding correctly.

    secondly, this forum is the best of the cow! not that the other forums aren’t great, it’s just that on the FCP forum you get good answers quickly! not too mention, rarely do i need to post because searching the archives answers 99.9% of my questions.
