  auto save issues

  I’m a bit confused. We’re working on a particular project and we crashed. Fortunately, our autosave vault is working without a hitch; we located a version of the project that was only a few minutes old – only a few changes had to be redone. What truly concerns me is that the actual project on the finder level had a ‘date modified’ time stamp from yesterday! While our auto save vault is working efficiently, the project isn’t automatically saving at all. Of course, we can always force save; but what settings should I alter to guarantee that the original project is properly updating? I’ve gone through all of the User Preferences quite thoroughly.

  The actual project NEVER “self-saves.” FCP only auto-saves to the Autosave Vault.

  Its good practice to “constantly” hit “apple-s” during an edit session so that YOU are saving the actual project frequently.
