I have been using FCP since ’99 and have been pretty lucky, I have done hundreds of projects and all in all have been very happy. In the past year or so I’ve been having this problem with the firewire connection just shutting off at random intervals. I have to usually re-boot to get it back again, very annoying, especially with a client sitting behind me. I have changed cables, tried 3 different decks and it still does it. I have a decklink card, maybe that creates a conflict. I even added another firewire card so it can have it’s own port, still does it.

Does anybody else have this problem? Also as a side bonus, it has a hard time capturing footage also, it gives phantom timecode break warnings when I know for sure they aren’t there.

    Thanks!
