  AE Memory Upgrade not recognized

  I have a Dual 1.8 G5 power pc with 5GB of memory and I’m running AE7. I recently upgraded from 3GB of memory to 5GB, but I haven’t seen any change in AE’s performance. In fact, when AE starts up, when it’s rendering a RAM preview or when I go into the preferences to “Memory & Cache” the Maximum memory usage shown is only 3GB. Does anyone know why I can’t utillize all 5GB?

  PS. When I select “About This Mac” from the apple drop down menu it shows 5GB of SDRAM.

  AE is a 32 bit app and will never use more than 3 GB.
