  Marrying multiple clips.

  I want to parent two clips together like you can in after effects, so that when I do a resize on one clip, another is also affected. Is this possible to do in Final cut? How whould I do this?

  It’s called Nesting in FCP. In the Sequence Menu you should see an option for “Nest Items”. That will collapse any clips you have selected into a nest which will allow you to make global changes to the all clips with the same commands.

  Once you have your nest, to load the nest into the Viewer to edit it, you need to CTRL-click it to load the nest. Double clicking the nest in the timeline will open up the nest, allowing you to edit the clips within the nest individually. It’s a little frustrating at first, but you’ll get the hang of it soon.

  Post back with more questions. Nesting opens up a whole new world, and a whole bunch of changes in how you can work that can be confusing.
