  PAL DV to NTSC DVD

  Living in an entirely PAL land, I guess the best way for me to convert PAL DV to NTSC DVD in FCP5 would be to use Mr Nattress’ convertion filter to produce an NTSC quicktime file, then open DVD Studio Pro 4, preferences set to NTSC, then go for it. Or maybe I can do it without the Natterss filter? Any gotchas, because I don’t think I have a way of checking it before I post the NTSC DVD accross the pond?

  I’m in NTSC land so I haven’t researched the following yet, but I’ve heard that Compressor 2 will do the conversion now. If you don’t have it then I strongly suggest you go for Graeme’s Standards Conversion plugin for FCP.

  I am a German producer working out of New York, so I have to deal with norm conversion quite a bit. The Natress thing is an incredible bang for the buck at $100.

  FCP converts but it is not as good…
