  • Converting double system audio from 30 to 29.97

Working on a short film where the sound guy mistakenly recorded his multitrack BWF files at 30 instead of 29.97. I’ve been converting the polyphonic BWF to multitrack quicktimes (usinng Andreas Kiel’s BWF2XML converter which works great) with all the meta data and everything works well. I merged all clips fine but when I cut a a clip that has the 30 frame audio on it inti my 23.98 timeline I get that crazy beeping. Rendering the audio settles the issue but it’s a reel pain for dialogue editing. I was thinking if there was a way to convert the original audio files to 29.97 then re sync merge them it would make my life alot easier editing. Can Sountrack pro do this? There doesn’y seem to be a way to export from Quicktime or FCP and change the frame rate on the audio. I think there is a way to puldown the audio from a dat machine, but everything was recorded to hard disk and there are no dats.

    Cheers
