  File Error Specified File is Locked

  File Error Specified File is Locked. This message just started coming up when I try to render my project. What is it that it wants me to unlock. I have reset the user prefs and restarted and still the same thing.

  Do a get info on your media drive and see if it’s locked (little box that says locked, make sure there’s no check in it), if the media drive isn’t locked then you need to start going through each folder in your final cut pro documents folder. I’d start with the render files folder, if that isn’t locked then try the specific project folder in your render files folder. If that doesn’t work quit, go home early, and get some sleep. The computer will fix itself. Just kidding. Keep looking for a locked folder and also make sure you are able to read and write to the disk (those options are also available in the get info window). You can also repair permissions on your boot drive which might take care of something like this. This should get you started.
