  picture freezes in reverse

  I own a G4 500 dual coprocessor running OSX 10.3.9 using FCP 4.5. I just updated my quicktime to 7.0.4 and updated my OSX to the above at the same time. After doing so I notice with great frustration that when I hit the ‘J’ key for reverse the picture freezes and only unlocks when I hit stop at which point it jumps to the current frame. I can’t seem to find a setting to click that will return my edit system to its previous mode – when I hit the ‘J’ key the picture follows the cursor movement. I’d really appreciate finding out what to do to fix this problem. Thanks.
