  why are the speakers set to an off position in the capture presets of FCP5 and how do you get them on. Jerry Hoffman gives advice on this in his book on FCP but FCP5 does not seem to have the same features. I know I have sound(I can see it on the VU meter) but I cannot access it.

  In the LOG AND CAPTURE window, in the CLIP SETTINGS Tab, check the box marked PREVIEW.
