We usually use protools guys for post sound work, but this time we are using a firm that is heavily into logic. Automatic duck’s plugin is the one we usually use when exporting to protools, but it looks like logic can’t use this info (correct me if I am wrong please)

How do you export the sound from fcp to Logic.. and getting my rubberbands included.

    Thanks

    Anders,

Have you tried soundtrack pro? That’s optimized for interfacing with FCP both in and out. No OMF’s needed. Just “send to” STP and you’re there. Logic is primarily focused on music creation and mixing, so I don’t think it will interface with FCP as easily.

To answer your question, I don’t think you can get there from here… at least not in the way you’re thinking.

FCP’s OMF export does not include volume info. Sorry, but that includes your rubberbanding. Mark already pointed out export that STP does include it, & I think STP should work with all your logic plugins.

i cant remember exactly how we did it, but we got our FCP rubber bands into Logic without any 3rd party software.

sorry for being so vague, it was a real rush time for us.

we experienced with XML i believe,

and wound up using the copies of the actual (video) media from FCP, so an FCP media Manage was essential.

we were in a similar situation where we had a logic based sound guy.
in the end there were so many problems (a lot had to do with his level of film experience)
that we switched applications and operators to a DSP sound path

    cheers,
    nick

You’re right, Logic doesn’t seem to like our OMFs. To get from FCP to Logic try using XML.
