I edited a project for a client on an external hard drive. That external hard drive was designated as the destination for all capture scratch files. However, as my client gets ready to do some tweaking on his end (he also has FCP), I’m told he can’t find the project file. Number One question: what did I do wrong? I thought designating the ext. hard drive as the capture scratch disc destination also meant the project file was there.
Number two question: I’m asked to look for the project file on my G5, archive it, then send it as a zip file. What’s the process for that?

    thanks for your help,
    David

No…your project file does not reside on the external drive with the media. That is the media. YOur project file is a separate file. That usually resides on your main system drive. Where? I don’t know…it is where you saved it. use SPOTLIGHT to locate it. THAT is what you need to archive and send to your client. THAT is what you should be backing up nightly on another drive in case your drive fails. The project file is the most important file in FCP.
