  FIREWIRE PROBLEM

  I have a problem using firewire to capture media using Final Cut Pro 5.0.4 on a OS 10.4.3 system, that also has a Blackmagic card (don’t know if this matters). Anyway, the problem is that while I can control the deck using firewire, neither audio or video come into the system. If I try to capture, a message comes up that the deck can’t be found. Yet, obviously the deck is found – I am controlling it. It is not a question of not being in the right Easy Setup, or bad cables – I’ve ruled that out….
  Any ideas?

  You say you have a “Blackmagic card” attached, as well.

  In the “Audio/Video Settings” menu:

  You must switch BOTH the “Cature Preset:” AND the “Device Control Preset” to “NTSC (or PAL) FireWire” to get FW capture to work.
