  quicktime query

  am working in a 16 x 9 pal timeline on 4.5. have exported m2vs and the screen asepct ratio is preserved fine so there is nothing incorrect about my timeline or footage.

  i’m after a small qt for a client but when i export using quicktime conversion from fcp/format: quicktime movie/use: broadband medium and select options/settings/compression type dv pal/ aspect 16 x 9 the outcome is a 4 x 3 qt. as a test i changed the aspect ratio setting to 4 x 3 and exported a qt using the same settings and the result was the same, a 4 x 3 quicktime.so no difference between the files despite selecting a different aspect ratio. am happy with everything about the file expect the aspect ratio.

  any ideas how i can output a small qt and preserve the aspect ratio?

  i’ve forced the player to display 16×9 using quicktime pro but be grateful if anyone had any ideas about how to avoid this second step…

  Are you setting the size?
  If you are using qt conversion, click options and the click the size and tell it the demensions you want.
