Can anybody give input on how to share/proof footage from FCP 4.5? I work with another editor in a different location and would like to share Quicktime files via the Internet from time to time. Is there a good way to either share Quicktime files, JPEGS, etc. I’m thinking of some on-line account where you log in, upload files (it means big files, e.g. 30GB), and then the other editor can log-in and drag those files to his desktop. Can a .MAC account accomplish this well, or is there something better out there?

    Thanks.

Unless you both have access to uber-fast upload available to you via a T3 line or something, you might find uploading 30 GB will take so long you could snail mail it faster.

Sure, it can be done, but I’d test it first. Make sure you’re prepared for how long it’ll take.

Debe is right. Sending even 1gb files across the web is very tedious, torturously slow, and usually drops out and has to be restarted several times. http://www.yousendit.com, limited to 1gb files (which someone mentioned earlier on this forum), is frought with problems and necessary restarts.
