  • Help! “Missing” Playback A/V setting Apple Firewre NTSC (720×480)

This is a new one. I’m working on a project in DV NTSC 48 kHz Sequence preset (nearly done with it) and had a sequence I built over a week ago that has freeze frames at the end of various 6-8 second clips. What I’m seeing now is the Freeze Frame is scrunched in the Canvas screen (which is 4:3) like it it might look in a 16:9 screen inserting 4:3 video. When I play through, the Viewer also looks scrunched while the moving frames just before are full screen. However, when I stop the CTI on the FF, the Viewer screen takes on a 16:9 shape and the FF doesn’t look scrunched. It is this way with all 9 of the FF clips in the sequence. Also, I’ve checked the aspect in the Motion Tab under Distort and it is at zero and the Scale is at 100.

Now, another short project I worked on last week was done in 16:9 but I’ve tried to be careful going back and forth. Does that have anything to do with this or why the Viewer screen reverts to 16:9 when stopped? Finally, I checked my A/V Settings and all check out except in the Summary tab in Video Playback, it says: [Missing] Apple FireWire NTSC (720 x 480) and FireWire DV is grayed out in the Audio Playback. Which I think is needed here, am I right?

I’ve been able to work around the problem by redoing the FF but it’s time consuming. And I’m not sure I won’t have problem when I try to export to go to DVD SP.

    Any ideas?
