  • 8 bit uncompressed export – how to?

i’ve just been requested to finish in this format
and am unsure just how to do it. tried changing
‘fcpro—>audio/video settings’ to that preset but
an ‘export—>quicktime movie’ yielded a file the
same size as my normal dv output. shouldn’t an
uncompressed format file be much larger? do i need
to output using compressor to get this?

the specific request was to have the editors to
‘finish the edit and output on an uncompressed 8
bit time line (the render will take a while), do
all your color correction and titles there, will
encode much nicer on the DVD.’

where to i set this up? obvously the first thing
i thought to try didn’t work.

    thanks in advance,
    BabaG

With the project open, go to the EASY SETUPS and select 8-BIT UNCOMPRESSED. If the machine has a spefic capture card, use the capture cards 8-bit setting. If not, then use Apples.

    Create a new sequence.

Copy and paste your DV sequence into this…then RENDER. Or CC first, THEN render.
